As a part of the CMMC‘s seminar series, Prof. Frank‘s lecture on “ABCB5-positive stem cells in development and regeneration” will concern her laboratory research work on identifying clinically relevant stem cell populations in diverse human tissues, with special emphasis on the relevant role of the ATP-binding cassette transporter ABCB5, which has a unique and essential role in stem cell maintenance and survival. She will describe her team’s efforts to further examine the clinical relevance and therapeutic importance of ABCB5 as a novel biomarker for stem cell isolation for therapeutic applications.
