Young Cologne Eye Researcher Šejla Gegić won Margarete Kramer Prize
Šejla Gegić M.Sc. won the Margarete Kramer prize on the annual DOG Congress (www.dog.org). This prize is awarded by the Young DOG for the best abstract submitted to the congress. The purpose of this prize is to recognize outstanding scientific work by young ophthalmologists and scientists from across the field of ophthalmology. Ms. Gegić received the prize for her outstanding work „Tyrosinase reduces expression of vascular growth factors and improves graft survival”.
Ms. Gegić perform her PhD in a DFG-research unit FOR2240 associated project, titled “Functional significance and molecular mechanisms of tyrosinase in controlling lymphangiogenesis in various ocular diseases” supervized by Dr. Thomas Clahsen.
