Furthermore, FOR principal investigator PD Dr. Felix Bock talked about the local effects of anti-VEGF therapy. Last but not least FOR clinician-scientist PD Dr. med. Mario Matthaei shared information on fibrillar layer as a novel marker in the grading and treatment of Fuchs dystrophy. Prof. Takahiko Hayashi from Yokohama, a former Alexander von Humboldt fellow at Dept. of Ophthalmology, gave a lecture on lamellar corneal transplantation.

The main aim of the cooperation between the Departments of Ophthalmology of the Tongji University and the University Hospital Cologne is an in-depth exchange between scientists and clinicians of both institutions, especially in the field of corneal diseases.
