Citation ranking Ophthalmology: Department of Ophthalmology with three scientists among the top 30

In their current citation ranking in the field of eye and vision research, the LABORJOURNAL evaluated the citation frequency of articles by eye and vision researchers in German-speaking countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) from 2010 to 2019. Prof. Dr. Claus Cursiefen, director of the Department of Ophthalmology at the University Hospital Cologne and speaker of FOR 2240, is ranked 7th among eye and vision researchers.

With three nominations, the Department of Ophthalmology at the University Hospital Cologne is well represented in the top 30. Prof. Dr. Sascha Fauser (12th) and Univ. Prof. Dr. Bernd Kirchhof (24th) are listed together with Prof. Cursiefen (7th). All ophthalmologists were or are active in the DFG Research Group 2240.
