CMMC Symposium 2021 – Goes Hybrid

From 26-28 September 2021 the CMMC Symposium “25 Years of Progress in Molecular Medicine: From Basic Research to Clinical Application” took place in Cologne. It was hosted as a hybrid meeting with live streaming and an interactive virtual meeting platform.

The intention of the meeting was to discuss the impressive development medicine has undergone over the past 25 years as well as to highlight that the understanding of the pathogenesis of diseases at the molecular and cellular level has contributed significantly to the development of specific tools for the diagnosis, treatment or prevention of diseases.

The topics of the outstanding contributions were Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine, Molecular Oncology and Genomic Medicine, Precision Medicine in Cancer Treatment, Infectious Diseases, Neuroplasticity and Neurodegeneration and Metabolism and Aging.

The event was supported by the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina. Prof. Dr. Claus Cursiefen, as speaker of the FOR 2240 and member of Leopoldina, was part of the scientific CMMC Symposium Committee.
