German Ophthalmological Society (DOG) – Professor Dr. Claus Cursiefen elected as Secretary General

The German Ophthalmological Society (DOG) elected Professor Dr. Claus Cursiefen as Secretary General for the period of four years during their 118th annual meeting in Berlin.

The renowned eye specialist´s tasks as Secretary General are assuring continuity of fundamental issues and liaising with other public and private institutions. Furthermore, Professor Cursiefen will govern the DOG headquarter in Munich.

The DOG with its 7750 members is the oldest ophthalmological society worldwide. Professor Cursiefen´s main goal during his term of office is the strengthening of ophthalmologic research and promoting the internationalization of the association.
