The Young Researcher Vision Camp 2021

FOR 2240 scientists Dr. Karina Hadrian, Alfrun Schönberg and Dr. Gwen Musial participated in the annual “Vision Camp 2021” organized by the European Vision Institute (EVI). The meeting took place online on 24th and 25th June 2021.

The European Vision Institute (EVI) creates and implements programs and projects for new therapeutic strategies for eye diseases that are still difficult or impossible to treat. The Vision Camp aims at giving young researchers an opportunity to present their work to other researchers and grow their network in an international environment. The agenda contained a wide variety of topics around vision research that were presented by up-and-coming researchers as well as experienced lab leaders.

Dr. Karina Hadrian chaired the “Cornea Session” in which Alfrun Schönberg and Dr. Gwen Musial both presented FOR 2240 research results. Alfrun Schönberg gave a lecture on “Pre-incubation of donor tissue with sCD83 improves graft survival via the induction of tolerogenic cells” while Gwen Musial talked about “Dynamic Contrast microscopic Optical Coherence Tomography: A new method for in-vitro tissue analysis”.

The Vision Camp 2021 was a very interesting and fruitful event and we are looking forward to participating again in upcoming camps.
